Wheel Turbine Parts

The Heart of any Shot Blasting Machine, a Wheel Turbine’s efficiency is determined by its spare parts quality; running at 3000 RPM with a constant flow of abrasive through it, wheel turbine parts such as Turbine Blades, Wear Plates, Control Cage, Impeller, Bare Wheel are some of the most frequently changed spares.

Turbine Blades

Made usually in sets of 8, the turbine blades come in various shapes and sizes and are either casted or machined. It’s role is to accelerate abrasives as they leave the turbine, allowing the abrasives to reach up to 100 m/s depending on the size of the turbine. Turbine Blades require frequent replacement as millions of abrasive particles erode the surface rapidly.

Bare Wheel

Also known as Wheel, Impeller Wheel, Runner Head orsimply Turbine, a Bare Wheel is Machined and balanced to run smoothly at 3000 RPM. It holds the turbine blades in place either through a blade lock or step lock mechanism and forms the main central body of the Wheel Turbine.

Impeller

The Innermost rotating part of the Wheel Turbine, an Impeller also known as a dispenser distributes abrasives from the feed pipe to the rest of the wheel turbine.

Control Cage

The key to adjusting the hot spot of the Wheel Turbine, a Control Cage’s position determines if your wheel turbine isthrowing the abrasive in the right direction. An open window on the control cages body allows a stream of abrasives to flow onto the running blades and thus exit the wheel turbine in the required direction. Also known as Dispenser Housing, Selaria’s Wheel Turbine comes with an external gauge to allow accurate adjustment of the Control Cage.

Wear Plates

Given the self-destructive nature of the Wheel Turbine, it’s casing must be protected from unwanted damage. This is where wear plates come into picture. Selaria’s Wear plates are manufactured from High Grade Manganese Steel or Alloy Castings, allowing long service life.
